The Nevada women’s basketball team fell to Fresno State 54-44 Saturday inside Lawlor Events Center, a second straight loss for the Wolf Pack following its season-high three-game winning streak.<\/p>\n
Nevada (7-11, 3-5) led the Bulldogs by two following the first quarter before the visitors outscored the Wolf Pack by six in the second, entering the halftime break with a four-point advantage on the road. After a back-and-forth third quarter, Nevada trailed by three into the deciding 10 minutes.<\/p>\n
The fourth was dominated by the Bulldogs with Fresno State storming out to a 15-0 run – the first 11 from Emilia Long – to extend its lead to 50-32 with 4:58 to play. Long finished with 22 points as the Bulldogs eventually outscored Nevada 19-12 in the final ten minutes. The result was similar to Wednesday’s 65-51 loss at Grand Canyon in which Nevada entered the fourth quarter down just five.<\/p>\n
The Wolf Pack was led by Olivia Poulivaati’s 10 points and seven rebounds off the bench. Skylar Durley added seven points with five rebounds. Nevada shot 15-51 from the field (29.4%) and 0-9 from three.<\/p>\n
