(KGET) \u2014 A Bakersfield man accused of inflicting fatal injuries to his month-old son\u00a0has been assigned a courtroom for trial on charges including second-degree murder.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Eduardo Gutierrez, 25, will stand trial in the courtroom of Judge John R. Brownlee.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">On Nov. 24, 2024, Valentin Gutierrez was found motionless by his mother, who\u2019d taken a nap after leaving him in the care of Eduardo Gutierrez, according to a court filing. She asked what happened.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cI made him stop crying,\u201d the father said according to the filing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The mother took Valentin to Memorial Hospital. He was transferred to Valley Children\u2019s Hospital due to the severity of his injuries, which included skull fractures and bleeding on the brain.
