{"id":138928,"date":"2026-01-18T13:27:19","date_gmt":"2026-01-18T13:27:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/138928\/"},"modified":"2026-01-18T13:27:19","modified_gmt":"2026-01-18T13:27:19","slug":"husband-and-wife-idd-in-fatal-head-on-crash-in-fresno-county","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/138928\/","title":{"rendered":"Husband and wife ID\u2019d in fatal head-on crash in Fresno County"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Fresno County Coroner\u2019s Office has identified the two people killed in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fresnobee.com\/news\/local\/article314351388.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:head-on collision;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">head-on collision<\/a> Friday in the foothills as a husband and wife.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Ted Amber, 87, and Sharon Amber, 86, both of Clovis, were in a Kia Soul when a Dodge Durango headed north on Auberry Road crossed the center line and struck them in the southbound lanes of Waterbury Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The crash was reported at 11:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The two were pronounced dead at the scene, CHP said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The 21-year-old driver of the Durango was not injured and was cooperating with authorities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Neither alcohol nor drugs was suspected as factors in the crash, CHP said, but the driver was placed under arrest based on witness statements and physical evidence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Fresno County District Attorney\u2019s Office responded to the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Durango driver was identified as Lazaro Hernandez of Clovis.
