The former CEO of title insurer First American Financial, whose 26-year career at the firm came to an abrupt end following assault allegations, scored the priciest single-family home sale in Long Beach last year, according to Los Angeles County tax assessor data and research by The Real Deal.<\/p>\n

Kenneth DeGiorgio and wife Nichol DeGiorgio offloaded 5490 East The Toledo in Naples for $10.5 million in June, a couple of months after he was terminated<\/a> from the Santa Ana-based title insurer, which is publicly traded with a market capitalization of around $6 billion.<\/p>\n

This is the latest installment in a feature providing a weekly update on top sales by market segment, based on TRD Data for given periods.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The DeGiorgios sold the three-story, 5,714-square foot home for about $1,838 per square foot. That is less on a per-square-foot basis than the second-priciest sale in Long Beach in 2025, which went for $8 million, or $1,983 per square foot. Kenneth DeGiorgio was arrested in April 2025 following an assault charge stemming from an altercation on a cruise ship. The disgraced executive, whose LinkedIn profile<\/a> says he\u2019s self-employed in Miami, was on a Virgin Voyages Caribbean cruise ship with his wife when he allegedly choked another passenger on board. The case was terminated by June 9<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The couple put the property on the market on May 7 for $10.7 million, according to the Press-Telegram.<\/p>\n

The DeGiorgios acquired the 1984-built home, which was remodeled in 2004, in 2017 for $6.9 million, property records indicate. The waterfront house has four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, panoramic views from all levels, climate controlled wine room with a 1,000-bottle capacity, two laundry rooms and a ground spa pool. The primary suite has a private view deck with an outdoor fireplace. The house\u00a0 has a 360-degree panoramic rooftop view deck spanning the entire rooftop and comes with a three-car garage.<\/p>\n

Vista Sotheby\u2019s International Realty\u2019s Keith Muirhead listed the property, and Desert Sotheby\u2019s International\u2019s Tamara Baron represented the buyer.<\/p>\n
