(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 A man has died after crashing into a canal near south of Bakersfield.<\/p>\n<p>California Highway Patrol says a 62-year-old man was driving west on Herring Road, west of Highway 99, in heavy fog conditions.<\/p>\n<p>CHP says the man crossed over eastbound lanes, onto the shoulder of Herring Road and overturned into a water filled canal.<\/p>\n<p>The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>It is still unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information is asked to call Bakersfield CHP at (661) 396-6600<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"BAKERSFIELD, Calif.
