About one year after the Cincinnati Reds<\/a> traded minor-leaguer Mike Sirota and a draft pick to the Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> for Gavin Lux, the Reds sent Lux to the Tampa Bay Rays<\/a> in a three-team deal.<\/p>\n

Lux, who batted .269 with five home runs and 53 RBIs in his only season with the Reds<\/a>, spent the evening of Jan. 15 at the P&G MLB Cincinnati Reds Youth Academy, joining outfielder Rece Hinds in throwing batting practice and signing autographs for young Cincinnati-area players.<\/p>\n

Moments later, Lux found out he was headed to the American League for the first time in his MLB career.<\/p>\n

Tampabay.com’s Marc Topkin wrote that the Rays<\/a> “believe Lux will benefit from knowing he was acquired to play second base.”<\/p>\n

The Reds received left-handed pitcher Brock Burke in the Lux trade.<\/p>\n

The Angels received outfielder Josh Lowe, selected by the Rays seven picks before the Dodgers took Lux in the first round of the 2016 MLB draft, in the deal.<\/p>\n
