(WLOX) &#8211; Equal Steps Veterans Home Executive Director Velma Nakole Predium-Morris is in jail after she was arrested Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">She was booked on a felony bad check charge, and WLOX is told court documents filed in Harrison County show multiple judgments from many companies against Predium-Morris, totaling more than $164,000.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Equal Steps Veterans Home Executive Director Velma Nakole Predium-Morris is in jail after she...\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/DBS7GWFBWFHJRGM62WH54SGKME.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"658\" \/>Equal Steps Veterans Home Executive Director Velma Nakole Predium-Morris is in jail after she was arrested Friday.(WLOX)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">However, we\u2019re unsure what specific incident led to her arrest on Friday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">While she was in jail, her daughter stepped in, worried about the veterans inside the home, and tried to help them find a place to go.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">She initially told WLOX News that all residents had to be out by Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">That was until the Long Beach Police Department was called after an argument started Saturday afternoon between a resident\u2019s family member and the daughter. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">That\u2019s when the police department became aware of the situation the facility\u2019s residents were facing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wlox.com\/2025\/10\/19\/residents-equal-steps-veterans-home-displaced-building-closed\/ \" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wlox.com\/2025\/10\/19\/residents-equal-steps-veterans-home-displaced-building-closed\/ \">On Saturday evening, the veterans\u2019 home was shut down by authorities<\/a>, and at least 17 residents were moved to hospitals after several members of the medical staff left due to allegations of fraud that were made against Predium-Morris.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Buddy Hall is the property manager. He filed to have her evicted on September 17th.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Since 2021, Hall said, there have been issues of not paying rent on time and violations of the lease. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\">See a spelling or grammar error in this story?
