The Arvin Educational Center, located at 1001 Varsity Road, has been an invaluable<br \/>\n                        addition to the BC community, providing educational opportunities to residents of<br \/>\n                        south Kern County. They have already provided services to thousands of students through<br \/>\n                        courses, workshops, and events.<\/p>\n<p>Isabel Castaneda, the Program Manager at the Arvin Educational Center, said that this<br \/>\n                        one-year milestone is deeply meaningful to the site&#8217;s team and the community they<br \/>\n                        serve. \u201cAt the heart of BC Arvin\u2019s first year has been a commitment to people, not<br \/>\n                        just programs,\u201d she said, \u201cmy goal as the on-site manager has been to truly get to<br \/>\n                        know the community and ensure that every student and family feels seen, respected,<br \/>\n                        and supported.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The past year, BC Arvin not only hosted their first collegiate courses, but also offered<br \/>\n                        a variety of events throughout the campus\u2019 inaugural year to foster a sense of community<br \/>\n                        and encourage student involvement, including a Cinco de Mayo celebration, Noche de<br \/>\n                        Familia, Adult Education Night, the Mayor\u2019s Dinner, the Dr. Jim Young Library dedication,<br \/>\n                        and more.<\/p>\n<p>Castaneda shared excitement about the partnerships they created that helped BC Arvin<br \/>\n                        grow and thrive. \u201cOur partners at Arvin High School, the Grow Academy, Arvin Union<br \/>\n                        School District, and the Lamont School District were pivotal in helping share information<br \/>\n                        and ensure strong community participation,\u201d she said, \u201ctheir collaboration helped<br \/>\n                        build trust and awareness, allowing the center to feel like a shared community space<br \/>\n                        from the very beginning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While the first year of operation showed substantial growth, Castaneda expressed great<br \/>\n                        optimism for the future of BC Arvin. \u201cI\u2019m excited about growth that is intentional<br \/>\n                        and grounded in community needs,\u201d she said, \u201cthat includes expanding academic and<br \/>\n                        workforce pathways, strengthening certificate and career-focused programs, deepening<br \/>\n                        Early College opportunities, and continuing to develop BC Arvin as a true educational<br \/>\n                        and community hub.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to all the faculty, staff, and students that have contributed to an<br \/>\n                        exciting and successful year one at Bakersfield College\u2019s Arvin Campus.
