{"id":1443,"date":"2025-10-13T13:02:15","date_gmt":"2025-10-13T13:02:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/1443\/"},"modified":"2025-10-13T13:02:15","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T13:02:15","slug":"4-year-old-oakland-county-boy-raises-funds-for-local-dog-shelter-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/1443\/","title":{"rendered":"4-year-old Oakland County boy raises funds for local dog shelter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">OXFORD, Mich. \u2013 After learning about charity in school, a four-year-old boy from Oxford was inspired to give back to his local animal shelter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">For the past month, four-year-old Easton Peterson has been collecting donations, even returning pop cans, all to help support K9 Stray Rescue League.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cAt his school, each month they pick a virtue of the month and back in September the virtue was charity,\u201d said Alexandra Peterson, Easton\u2019s mother. \u201cWe had some conversations with Easton about what that meant and how we could show charity and give to our community, and after looking at a couple of different options he decided he wanted to help out the dogs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The shelter has been operating in Oxford for more than 30 years.
