A woman who repeatedly crashed her car into a Royal Oak store while intoxicated has opted out of trial by pleading guilty to drunk driving, fleeing police and six other felony charges.<\/p>\n

Katrina Deann-Renee Patterson, 26, was arrested last Nov. 9 after her SUV became lodged in the Ulta Beauty store on Woodward Avenue. At a Jan. 20 hearing before Judge Victoria Valentine of Oakland County Circuit Court, she pleaded guilty as charged to::<\/p>\n

\u2022 Fleeing\/eluding police-third degree
\u2022 Assault\/restrict\/obstruct police
\u2022 Two counts of felonious assault
\u2022 Malicious destruction of a building, $20,000 or more
\u2022 Malicious destruction of property, $20,000 or more
\u2022 Malicious destruction of police property
\u2022 Operating while intoxicated, second offense<\/p>\n

As previously reported, Royal Oak Police Lt. Rich Millard said the incident unfolded when officers responded to a report of a white SUV driving on the railroad tracks near West Fourth Street and South Center Street. Officers reportedly spotted an open container of alcohol in the SUV, which had a tire \u201cgoing flat,\u201d and the driver \u2014 identified as Patterson \u2014 refused to cooperate with them. She then took off in her SUV, was pursued by police, eventually lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the Ulta store.<\/p>\n

Patterson tried to flee while the SUV was lodged in the building,\u00a0 backing up and ramming a patrol car, police said.\u00a0 She kept trying to drive away, moving the SUV further into the store where she reportedly caused thousands of dollars in damage, Millard said..<\/p>\n

Patterson has a 2023 conviction for operating while intoxicated.<\/p>\n

Sentencing is scheduled for March 10.<\/p>\n
