FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) \u2014 A multi-agency parole operation in Fresno on Wednesday led to the arrest of 19 people and discovery of several weapons. <\/p>\n
The effort, called \u201cOperation New Year\u2019s Resolve,\u201d was led by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation\u2019s (CDCR) Community Compliance Unit (CCU), along with Fresno parole agents, and included about 79 officers from state and local law enforcement.<\/p>\n
Parolees and others under supervision were targeted in the operation, including sex offenders and gang-affiliated individuals.<\/p>\n
Officers performed compliance checks to ensure individuals were following their parole conditions, which include obeying the law, refraining from firearm possession, and regularly reporting to parole agents.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo injuries or use of force were reported during the operation,\u201d said Bryan Bishop, Director of the Division of Adult Parole Operations. \u201cThese compliance checks support public safety and accountability by strengthening partnerships that encourage successful reintegration.\u201d<\/p>\n

Participating agencies included Fresno parole units, Fresno Police Department, Fresno County Sheriff\u2019s Office, California Highway Patrol, the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium (MAGEC), the Human Trafficking and Sexual Predator Apprehension Team (HT\/SPAT), and others.<\/p>\n
DAPO officials said these operations are part of a broader effort to proactively engage individuals under supervision, identify noncompliance early, and connect people with resources to reduce the risk of reoffending. <\/p>\n
Those found in violation of parole could face new criminal charges or parole revocation.<\/p>\n
