LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton Titans women’s basketball team defeated Long Beach State 84-66 on the road on Thursday night at the Walter Pyramid.<\/p>\n
After a hot start to the game from the Beach, it was all Titans the rest of the way from the second quarter.\u00a0\u00a0The Titans took the lead after a Kya Pearson<\/a> layup with 7:15 left in the second quarter and didn’t relinquish the lead the rest of the way.<\/p>\n Kya Pearson<\/a> led the Titans with a Fullerton career high of 23 points.\u00a0\u00a0Talia Maxwell<\/a> had 19 points, Cristina Jones<\/a> had 15 points, and Maddy Tauro<\/a> had 10 points. \u00a0The Titans shot 47.8% from the floor (33-for-69) and 15-for-18 from the free throw line. \u00a0The Titans forced 35 turnovers from Long Beach which led to 43 points. \u00a0The Titans also had 25 steals to match their CSUN total for highest against a NCAA D-1 opponent.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n The Titans fell behind in the first quarter after Long Beach shot 71.4% from the floor including making four three-pointers. \u00a0Kya Pearson<\/a> and Cristina Jones<\/a> kept the Titans within range as they scored all 17 points in the first quarter.<\/p>\n KP TREY!#TusksUp<\/a> pic.twitter.com\/vHljWLAkr3<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Titans Women’s Basketball (@FullertonWBB) January 23, 2026<\/a> <\/p>\n The Titans turned up the pressure in the second quarter as they dominated the Beach, outscoring them 31-to-14.\u00a0 \u00a0The Titans forced 12 turnovers and had 6 steals in the second quarter.<\/p>\n The Titans quickly erased the 7-point deficit to start the second quarter after going on a 12-0 run over the first four minutes of the period.<\/p>\n Kya the Facilitator#TusksUp<\/a> pic.twitter.com\/ZgBUaKL5FJ<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Titans Women’s Basketball (@FullertonWBB) January 23, 2026<\/a> <\/p>\n The Titans stretched their lead to seven points at 38-31 before the Beach got within 2 points at 38-36 with 1:30 left.
