Its mission centered on promoting cooperation, addressing campus and community issues and uplifting African American students and families. time this season. Wade matched her career-high with 20 points. The junior forward also grabbed five rebounds, dished out one assist and picked up one steal.<\/p>\n<p>Slippery Rock ended the game shooting 42.3 percent (30-of-71) from the field overall, 28\u00a0percent (7-for-25) from the 3-point line and\u00a057.1 percent (8-of-14) from the charity stripe.<\/p>\n<p>Seton Hill shot to 52.2 percent (36-of-69) from the floor overall, 35 percent (7-for-20) from beyond the arc and 73.9 percent (17-of-23) from the\u00a0foul line.<\/p>\n<p>BALANCED ATTACK<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nAgainst the Griffins, Slippery Rock had five players score in double figures with Wade (20), Joseph-Bernard (13), Hook (13), Gillin (11) and Woods (10). The last time Slippery Rock had five different players score 10 or more points in a game was Nov. 27, 2021, in a 77-71 victory over Notre Dame College. Jamiyah Johnson, Isabella Middleton, Kennedy Middleton, Daeja Quick and Anyah Curd all scored 10 or more points for SRU against the Falcons.<\/p>\n<p>LEADING THE PACK<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nWade is currently averaging\u00a013.6 points per game and 4.6 assists per game this season. The guard sits 29th in the country in assists per game and\u00a0is the second highest in the freshmen ranks in Division II. The forward is currently 34th\u00a0in Division II in total blocks with 29 and 37th\u00a0with 1.81 blocks per game. While near the top of the country in blocks and blocks per game, Joseph-Bernard&#8217;s total rejection numbers sit third the PSAC. The senior forward only trails Lock Haven University&#8217;s Alana Robinson (2.2) and Kutztown University&#8217;s Ariana Smuda (1.82) in blocks per game.<\/p>\n<p>Along with Joseph-Bernard, Gillin has also been a force in the paint. Gillin ranks fifth in total blocks (25) and\u00a0fifth in blocks per game (1.6) in the PSAC.<\/p>\n<p>ROOKIE LEADERS<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nWith 10 games left in the regular season, Wade is currently The Rock&#8217;s leading scorer with 13.6 points per game. If the freshman stays as SRU&#8217;s top point-getter, she will be the third rookie to lead The Rock in scoring since the 1999-00 season. <a href=\"https:\/\/rockathletics.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/regan-atkins\/37176\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"37176\" target=\"_blank\">Regan Atkins<\/a> (2023-24) and Becky Siembak (1999-00) are the only SRU rookies to lead the team in points in the last 27 seasons.<\/p>\n<p>RISING UP THE RANKS<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nAgainst the Griffins, Joseph-Bernard\u00a0moved into sole possession for 10th\u00a0place ahead of Lori Robinson (1993-96, 97-98) on Slippery Rock&#8217;s career blocks list with 57 rejections.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Gillin blocked two shots against Seton Hill to into a tie for 13th\u00a0place, with Mallory Heinle (2014-18) on the blocks list with 50.<\/p>\n<p>INSIDE-OUT THREAT<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nGillin has been a cornerstone for SRU both offensively and defensively this year. The senior transfer from Bethune-Cookman\u00a0sits with 33\u00a0steals on the season, just one\u00a0steal\u00a0behind Lexi Carpenter\u00a0(2015-16) for the 9th most steals by a transfer in their first year at SRU. Woods has at leas tone steal in all but one game so far this season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On the offensive end, Woods has reach double-digits in points in eight of her last nine games, averaging\u00a010.3 ppg over that span.<\/p>\n<p>PRODUCTION OFF THE BENCH<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nHaggerty has been a productive scorer off the bench in the last three games for Slippery Rock. The junior has scored 14 or more points in two of her last three appearances, averaging 12.0 ppg in that span.<\/p>\n<p>A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nWhile typically not the highest scoring player on the court,\u00a0Joseph-Bernard always finds multiple ways to impact the game. The senior is averaging 9.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.8 blocks and 2.1 steals per game.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Joseph-Bernard is the only Division II athlete to average at least 9.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.5 blocks and 2.0 steals per game.<\/p>\n<p>APPROACHING FRESHMAN RANKS<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThree games into the second half of the\u00a0regular season, Wade is 41 points, and four 3-pointers away from entering Slippery Rock&#8217;s top 10 list for a freshman in each category. The freshman is currently chasing Viola Bournes (259 points), and Robinson (20 3-pointers).<\/p>\n<p>Against SHU, Wade orchestrated five assists to move up four spots into sixth place on SRU&#8217;s freshman assists list with 73 assists so far in 2025-26.<\/p>\n<p>NO FLY ZONE<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nJoseph-Bernard and Gillin have been the backbone Slippery Rock&#8217;s defense this season. Last season Cal went 16-12, it was the Vulcans&#8217; first season not reaching the 20-win threshold since the 2013-14 season and only the second time under head coach Jess Strom. California currently sits at 9-11, trying to avoid its first sub .500 record since the 1998-99 season. The Vulcans have faced four ranked opponents already this season, with a 1-3 record in such games.
