The third annual Fatherhood Conference featured its biggest turnout with nearly 300 fathers registered to participate.<\/p>\n
The fathers are educated and receive guidance from various speakers, including Dr. Ronald “Doc” Waller, who is the lifestyle coordinator or CSUB Athletics.<\/p>\n
The conference is also a great place for fathers to connect with other fathers and gain support from each other, said Savannah Oates, CAPK public relations and advocacy manager.<\/p>\n
CAPK’s head start program hosts the Fatherhood Conference. The head start program is geared for infants, but the Fatherhood Conference is intended for adults.<\/p>\n

The conference took place at the Double Tree Hotel in Bakersfield. The event brings together local fathers, father figures and community partners.
