A man in his 60\u2019s was killed in a crash near Petaluma Friday morning, shutting down a stretch of roadway for hours, according to California Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n
The crash was reported around 5:50 a.m. on Adobe Road between Frates and Stage Gulch roads, also known as state Highway 116, according to CHP Officer David deRutte.<\/p>\n
Investigators believe that an eastbound gray Honda CR-V on Adobe Road crossed over the double lines for unknown reasons. It sideswiped a westbound white Chevrolet Silverado and then collided head-on with a black Toyota Camry, which was also traveling west.<\/p>\n
The driver of the Honda CR-V sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, deRutte said. His identity was not yet released by authorities.<\/p>\n
The driver of the Camry sustained major but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. The driver of the Silverado sustained minor injuries.<\/p>\n
Lanes were closed on Adobe Road and traffic was blocked in both directions. By 10:16 a.m., all lanes were reopened, according to a CHP post on X.<\/p>\n
