FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) \u2014 The annual Alumni Game for Fresno State baseball took place at Pete Beiden Field on Saturday, when the current team faced former players in an exhibition.<\/p>\n
Not everyone was allowed to play.<\/p>\n
The Pittsburgh Pirates asked their 2025 draft pick Triston “Murf” Gray to sit out, so he fielded pre-game grounders and hung out in the alumni dugout.<\/p>\n
There were more former players from recent Bulldog baseball teams, like Eddie Saldivar and Tommy Hopfe.<\/p>\n
There were also alumni using the opportunity to prepare for spring training, such as Clovis HS grad Noah Beal, who will report for the Tampa Bay Rays in a few weeks.<\/p>\n
The current Fresno State baseball team actually managed a couple of hits off Beal in the 1st inning – Jett Ruby doubled, and Cayden Munster singled him in.<\/p>\n
