While Adam longs for his home where \u201ctalking tigers, spaceships and magic swords that can make a man as mighty as a god\u201d are real, he\u2019s admonished for his \u201cobsession with nerd stuff and sword things\u201d by  corporate colleagues. <\/p>\n<p>Luckily, he\u2019ll eventually be reunited with his Power Sword to find his way back to Eternia. The trailer shows Adam hitching a ride with Teela away from Earth and his mundane job (whether he had time to give his two-week notice remains unknown). <\/p>\n<p>           <img id=\"yt-img-ZmEx7wQI6RY\" class=\"absolute\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/1769336196_301_hqdefault.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"\/>                 <\/p>\n<p>Directed by Travis Knight, \u201cMasters of the Universe\u201d stars <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment-arts\/awards\/story\/2024-06-12\/mary-george-starz-julianne-moore-nicholas-galitzine\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nicholas Galitzine<\/a> as the muscular, magical sword-wielding defender of Eternia. The teaser reveals Prince Adam had been sent to Earth for his safety, but now his home planet needs him to embrace his destiny as its protector. The featured footage includes glimpses of He-Man\u2019s allies Teela (Camila Mendes), Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba), Roboto (voiced by Kristen Wiig) and Cringer \u2014 also known as Battle Cat \u2014 as well as foes Evil-Lyn (Alison Brie) and Skeletor (Jared Leto). <\/p>\n<p>The upcoming live-action film is based on the <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/obituaries\/story\/2021-12-25\/he-man-artist-and-toy-designer-t-mark-taylor-dies-at-80\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mattel toy line<\/a> that spawned the popular 1980s animated \u201cHe-Man and the Masters of the Universe\u201d series. The sprawling <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/archives\/la-xpm-1987-03-15-mn-10697-story.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">franchise<\/a> also includes a previous live-action installment, the 1987 \u201c<a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/archives\/la-xpm-1987-08-12-ca-349-story.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Masters of the Universe<\/a>\u201d starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor. More recent on-screen projects have predominantly been <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment-arts\/tv\/story\/2020-05-18\/netflix-she-ra-series-finale-queer-love-wins\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">animated<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The new \u201cMasters of the Universe\u201d will be Mattel\u2019s first film release since the acclaimed toy-based box office juggernaut \u201c<a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment-arts\/movies\/story\/2023-07-18\/barbie-review-margot-robbie-greta-gerwig-mattel\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Barbie<\/a>\u201d (2023).
