A second driver was hospitalized with stable injuries.<\/p>\n<p>WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. \u2014 A deadly traffic collision prompted major road closures in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc10.com\/article\/news\/local\/california\/martha-guerrero-congressional-run-6th-district\/103-e591e6ef-1f9e-4bc2-ba85-25c4d156a50e\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">West Sacramento<\/a> as police investigated a crash that left one person dead and another injured.<\/p>\n<p>West Sacramento Police officers responded to the scene on West Capitol Avenue near the Enterprise exit, where a two-vehicle crash occurred. Both eastbound and westbound lanes were shut down as the department\u2019s Traffic Unit worked to investigate what led up to the collision. Authorities said the closures were expected to last several hours.<\/p>\n<p>Police confirmed the crash involved two drivers. A 32-year-old woman from Davis was taken to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries. The other driver, a 29-year-old man from West Sacramento, was also transported for medical treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
