(Ryan Janke\/KFGO News)<\/p>\n<p>MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO) \u2014 Among those at the scene of Saturday\u2019s deadly shooting in south Minneapolis was a California Congressman.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Ro Khanna (D) visited with KFGO News Reporter Ryan Janke Monday afternoon. Khanna says he hopes President Donald Trump will start pulling federal agents out of Minneapolis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2009hope\u2009he\u2009de-escalates. I\u2009hope\u2009he\u2009sees\u2009the\u2009division\u2009that\u2009he\u2019s\u2009creating,\u2009that\u2009the\u2009ICE agents\u2009are\u2009creating.\u2009It\u2019s\u2009not\u2009good\u2009for\u2009the\u2009country,\u201d Khanna said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He added the outrage over ICE operations has a personal overtone, as he is an immigrant and has personal ties to political unrest in India.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy\u2009grandfather\u2009was\u2009in\u2009jail\u2009for\u2009four\u2009years\u2009in\u2009the 1930s, 1940s,\u2009as\u2009part\u2009of\u2009Gandhi\u2019s\u2009independence\u2009movement,\u201d Khanna said. \u201cI\u2019ve\u2009seen\u2009the\u2009Indian\u2009independence\u2009movement\u2009from\u2009history,\u2009the\u2009civil\u2009rights\u2009movement.\u2009This\u2009is\u2009the\u2009hope\u2009for\u2009a\u2009multiracial\u2009democracy\u2009that\u2019s\u2009at\u2009stake.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Earlier Monday, Khanna called for ICE agents involved in immigration enforcement in Minneapolis to be arrested and prosecuted.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Rep.
