{"id":153499,"date":"2026-01-28T16:53:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-28T16:53:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/153499\/"},"modified":"2026-01-28T16:53:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-28T16:53:08","slug":"woman-crossing-pch-dies-after-being-hit-by-pickup-truck-in-long-beach-police-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/153499\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman Crossing PCH Dies After Being Hit By Pickup Truck In Long Beach: Police Say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LONG BEACH, CA \u2014 A woman crossing Pacific Coast Highway died after being hit by a pickup truck in Long Beach on Tuesday, police say.<\/p>\n<p>Officers responded to a report of a collision with a vehicle and a pedestrian near <a href=\"https:\/\/www.longbeach.gov\/police\/press-releases\/traffic-fatality--pacific-coast-highway-and-gundry-avenue\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Pacific Coast Highway and Gundry Avenue<\/a> shortly before 6 a.m., the Long Beach Police Department said.<\/p>\n<p>The driver tried to help the injured woman until rescuers with the Long Beach Fire Department arrived, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Rescuers took the woman to a hospital, where she died from her injuries, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>Initial investigation shows that a 2024 Chevy Colorado was driving west on Pacific Coast Highway when it hit the woman, \u201cwho was walking north across Pacific Coast Highway, outside of a marked crosswalk,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation,\u201d police said.
