January 24, 2026 Courtesy: Fresno State Athletics<\/p>\n FRESNO, Calif.\u00a0\u2013 The Fresno State swim and dive team defeated UC Davis at the Fresno State Aquatics Center in dominating style for senior day on Saturday afternoon, 165-127.<\/p>\n How it happened\u00a0 Fresno State opened with a win in the first two events. The 200 medley relay touched for a time of 1:39.04 with Miller Lung hitting a 26.35 breaststroke split.\u00a0Laura Kalmar<\/a>\u00a0took the win in the 1000 freestyle and 500 freestyle. Aggies claimed the 200 freestyle but Bulldogs stormed through to take the next nine events. Freshman standout\u00a0Hayley Oke<\/a>\u00a0saw two event wins in the afternoon in the 100 butterfly (54.88) and the 100 backstroke (54.27).<\/p>\n A strong 1-2-3 finish for Fresno State in the 100 breaststroke with Miller Lung taking the top spot on a 58.72 holding 27.73 opening 50-yard split.\u00a0Aliz Kalmar<\/a>\u00a0touched second (1:02.99) while\u00a0Brooke Beauvais<\/a>\u00a0rounded out third place (1:04.48).\u00a0Clare Luken<\/a>\u00a0was the next \u2018Dog to grab an event win, this time in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:01.09), Franzi Djatej placed second for the \u2018Dogs (2:03.01). Miller Lung was a repeat winner for the 200 breaststroke (2:09.17), the senior opened the race with a 28.78 split. Taking it with speed\u00a0Jenna Pulkkinen<\/a>\u00a0earned the event win in the 50 freestyle.<\/p>\n UC Davis took the final two events in the 400 IM and 400 freestyle relay but Fresno State held the advantage to take the dual meet, 165-127.<\/p>\n Up next: The Fresno State diving crew will head to USAFA for the Air Force diving invite beginning Thursday, Jan. 29, through Saturday, Jan. 31, while the swimmers will see action at San Jose on Saturday, Jan. 31st.<\/p>\n Courtesy: UC Davis Athletics<\/p>\n Score:\u00a0UC Davis 127, Fresno State 165 The short story:\u00a0UC Davis turned in multiple event wins against Fresno State, highlighted by\u00a0McKenna Valenta\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0victory in the 200-yard freestyle and a first-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay.<\/p>\n POOL SIDE<\/p>\n McKenna Valenta<\/a>\u00a0captured first place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:47.99.<\/p>\n UC Davis won the 400-yard freestyle relay, finishing first in 3:22.21.<\/p>\n The Aggies swept the top two spots in the 400-yard IM, with\u00a0Brynn Graham<\/a>\u00a0taking first and\u00a0Zoe Childers<\/a>\u00a0finishing second.<\/p>\n Emily Scheberies<\/a>\u00a0placed second in both the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke.<\/p>\n UC Davis placed second and third in the 50-yard freestyle behind\u00a0Naomi Boegholm<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Sophi MacKay<\/a>.<\/p>\n HOW IT HAPPENED<\/p>\n UC Davis opened the meet with a runner-up finish in the 200-yard medley relay.<\/p>\n Valenta set the tone in the 200-yard freestyle, touching first to earn the Aggies a key individual win.<\/p>\n The Aggies continued to build momentum in the sprint events, placing second and third in the 50-yard freestyle.<\/p>\n In the distance IM, Graham and Childers controlled the 400-yard IM, finishing first and second.<\/p>\n Scheberies delivered back-to-back runner-up finishes in the 100 and 200 backstroke.<\/p>\n UC Davis closed the meet with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay to cap the day.<\/p>\n NEXT UP:\u00a0The Aggies return to Schaal Aquatic Center to take on Pacific on Jan. 31 at 12 PM PST and will celebrate their seniors at their last home meet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FRESNO STATE VS UC DAVIS (WOMEN) January 24, 2026 Fresno, Calif.
