The Los Angeles-born, family-owned Mediterranean wine bar Bacari\u00a0is making\u00a0its San Diego debut in February, opening in one of North Park\u2019s two-story buildings known for its New Orleans\u2013style architecture at 3823 30th Street (formerly Urban Solace).\u00a0<\/p>\n

If you have a passion for wine bars but don\u2019t feel like making a long drive to get to one, you\u2019ll be happy to know that a short commute over to North Park will be an option later in February.<\/p>\n

The Los Angeles-born, family-owned Mediterranean wine bar Bacari<\/a>\u00a0is making\u00a0its San Diego debut in February, opening in one of North Park\u2019s<\/a> two-story buildings known for its New Orleans\u2013style architecture at 3823 30th Street, formerly Urban Solace.<\/p>\n

Founded in 2008 by brothers Robert and Danny Kronfli and modeled after traditional Venetian wine bars, known as bacari in Italian, Bacari is known for seasonally rotating, shareable Mediterranean-inspired plates, wood-fired pizzas, handmade pastas, and a rotating wine list.<\/p>\n

Led by executive chef and co-owner Lior Hillel, the North Park location will span the space\u2019s two floors, plus an outdoor patio.<\/p>\n

Downtown\/\/Uptown News\u00a0caught up recently with Bacari co-founder Robert Kronfli to discuss the new North Park wine bar.\u00a0<\/p>\n

DTN\/\/UTN:Talk a little bit about how Bacari came about in North Park and the excitement behind the February opening.<\/p>\n

Kronfli:\u00a0Our team had been scouting potential locations across San Diego County<\/a> and immediately gravitated towards the energy and community feel of North Park \u2014 it\u2019s inspiring. We noticed the building right away \u2013 with its unique architecture and great location \u2014 but it wasn\u2019t for lease. And when it did eventually become available, we knew it would be the perfect place for Bacari.<\/p>\n

We think of our brand as warm, approachable, and inviting \u2014and this space really personifies that. We can\u2019t wait to be a part of this community and hopefully become a go-to destination for social gatherings, first dates, and celebrations.<\/p>\n

DTN\/\/UTN:\u00a0What can San Diegans and out of town visitors to Bacari expect when they come to eat there?<\/p>\n

Kronfli:\u00a0At Bacari, it\u2019s all about the guest. Our number one priority is to make our guests feel welcomed and happy \u2013 so they can expect a really great experience. Of course, we have fantastic food, drinks, and service. But we just want our guests to let loose and have a fun time. We don\u2019t take ourselves too seriously.<\/p>\n

DTN\/\/UTN:\u00a0About how many staff will be employed?<\/p>\n

Kronfli:\u00a040-50 staff.<\/p>\n

DTN\/\/UTN:\u00a0What else would you want locals and visitors to the restaurant to know about the new North Park locale?<\/p>\n

Kronfli:\u00a0We\u2019ve heard so many amazing stories about people\u2019s connection to this space and the previous restaurant tenant (Urban Solace). We\u2019re honored to take over a space that the North Park community has such an affinity for, and\u00a0we\u00a0don\u2019t take it lightly. We\u2019re excited to activate the second level, which is something new. <\/p>\n

We\u2019ll be opening for weekend brunch and dinner \u2014 and then we\u2019ll let the neighborhood inspire us from there.<\/p>\n
