South<\/a> extended their winning streak to five on Tuesday, bumping them up to 19-7. They claimed a resounding 68-24 victory over the East Bakersfield Blades<\/a>. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 25 points or more this season.<\/p>\n South had a senior duo take command as Gavin Christian<\/a> went 9-for-11 to rack up 21 points and Clifford Willis<\/a> almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine steals. Those points marked the first that Willis has scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Hernandez<\/a>, who posted nine points.<\/p>\n South was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That’s the most assists they’ve managed all season.<\/p>\n As for East Bakersfield, they are on an 18-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-21. While losing is never fun, they can’t take it too hard given the team’s big disadvantage in MaxPreps’ California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1299th, while South is ranked 266th).<\/p>\n East Bakersfield’s defeat shouldn’t obscure the performances of Benjamiin Bryant<\/a>, who had six points and five boards, and Miguel Marquez<\/a>, who put up a point and five rebounds.<\/p>\n Coincidentally, South and East Bakersfield will both be playing North the next time they take the court. The Blades will host the Stars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Spartans will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
