HUNT VALLEY, Md. (TNND) \u2014 There will be another \u201cNo Kings\u201d protest in March, organizers announced Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Indivisible, the grassroots organization behind the national demonstrations, said in a social media post<\/a> that the next protest will take place on March 28.<\/p>\n \u201cEverything you\u2019ve done so far (and everything you will be doing in the next weeks and months) is the stuff of history,\u201d Indivisible wrote on BlueSky. \u201cAnd together we will write the history of how, for the second time in 250 years, We the People defied and overcame a tyrant.\u201d<\/p>\n The organization has staged multiple protests against the Trump administration since last spring, mobilizing millions of people in cities across the country. Protesters have demonstrated in rallies and marches against various government entities, including the president himself, executive agencies and other Republican officials.<\/p>\n Donald Trump has dismissed the idea that he acts like a king, mocking the protests and their participants. In October, when a \u201cNo Kings\u201d protest was underway, he posted a video on social media depicting him wearing a crown in a fighter jet that dumped poop onto New York City protesters.<\/p>\n Liberal content creator Harry Sisson, who participated in the demonstration and was shown in Trump\u2019s video, said the president and other Republicans were “terrified” of the protesters.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is not just about me. This is about me, you and everyone around you who is sticking up for democracy and pushing back on this administration,\u201d Sisson said in a video<\/a>. <\/p>\n \u201cThey are terrified of us. They see the \u2018No Kings\u2019 protest. They see more and more Americans fed up with what Donald Trump is doing, and they simply can\u2019t handle it.\u201d<\/p>\n Trump told reporters after the October protests that their participants were “whacked out\u201d and didn\u2019t represent the country.<\/p>\n \u201cI think it\u2019s a joke,\u201d the president said.<\/p>\n \u201cThe demonstrations were very small, very ineffective, and the people were whacked out. When you look at those people, those are not representative of the people of our country,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Indivisible, which helped organize that demonstration, has asserted that its efforts are in defense of democracy. The group said earlier this month that the president has abused his power by militarizing communities<\/a> and threatening political opponents.<\/p>\n \u201cDemocracy is not self-enforcing, and it is still under attack. Defending it requires courage and sustained resistance from the people and institutions,\u201d Indivisible co-founder Ezra Levin said in a statement<\/a>. \u201cSince Trump took office last year, people have shown up in record breaking numbers to say NO KINGS. This year will be a test of our democracy\u2019s resilience.”<\/p>\n
