{"id":155195,"date":"2026-01-29T17:54:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-29T17:54:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/155195\/"},"modified":"2026-01-29T17:54:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-29T17:54:07","slug":"garibay-guilty-of-stomping-elderly-man-to-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/155195\/","title":{"rendered":"Garibay Guilty of Stomping Elderly Man to Death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bakersfield, CA (KMJ)\u00a0 A Kern County jury on Wednesday found Jason Garibay guilty of First-Degree Murder.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors say in the Summer of 2025 Garibay violently attacked an elderly tenant of the room and board facility where they lived.<\/p>\n<p>The victim, 70-year old Domingo Trevino, was found dead at the scene.\u00a0 He had suffered massive trauma to his head and neck.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators say Garibay kicked and stomped on his head more than 20 times.<\/p>\n<p>During in an interview with detectives, Garibay admitted to killing Trevino and that he was \u201cproud of what he did\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Garibay is set to be sentenced on Feb. 27, 2026.\u00a0 He faces up to 25-years-to-life in prison.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Bakersfield, CA (KMJ)\u00a0 A Kern County jury on Wednesday found Jason Garibay guilty of First-Degree Murder.
