The city of Sacramento introduced a\u00a0Limited\u00a0Entertainment Permit<\/a>\u00a0to help streamline the process for restaurants\/cafes,\u00a0bars\u00a0and small venues\u00a0to\u00a0host live music and\u00a0entertainment.\u00a0An\u00a0outreach and training meeting<\/a>\u00a0for interested parties\u00a0will be held today at 5 p.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Could this permit finally\u00a0cut\u00a0through the red tape\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0long\u00a0been a sticking point in Sacramento?\u00a0We\u2019ll\u00a0stay on top of it.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Vivian\u2019s\u00a0own vocals have been a\u00a0hallmark of Sacramento\u2019s jazz scene for more than two decades. Along with Vivian and her quartet, the event includes comedy,\u00a0cultural education,\u00a0visual art and more live music from Q-Vo,\u00a0a band that\u00a0specializes\u00a0in lowrider oldies\u00a0that\u2019ll\u00a0make you want to cruise Del Paso Boulevard.\u00a0In all, a wonderful\u00a0slice of\u00a0Sacramento arts and soul.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The veteran jazz bassist and bandleader\u00a0is part of a jazz and R&B music series that includes\u00a0drummer\u00a0Jacob Swedlow of\u00a0LabRats\u00a0fame in a trio setting (Feb. 6) and soulful vocals from Melania Owens (Feb. 27).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
