The victim refused to elaborate: \u201cThey just destroyed my room. That\u2019s all I want to say. They have no line.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old center-winger, however, was more than happy to reveal the origin of the prank and how he kept it going, he estimates, 6-8 times, over the course of a couple months, until \u201cprobably February\u201d.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s not a Dellandrea original: He skated for the Dallas Stars from 2021 to 2024, before getting traded to the San Jose Sharks last summer, picking up the prank from an undisclosed Big D teammate.<\/p>\n
(It wasn\u2019t retired Sharks legend and Stars teammate Joe Pavelski.)<\/p>\n
So how did Dellandrea keep the party going in Celebrini and Smith\u2019s toilet?<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen we get into the road from the plane, we get into a hotel, when you walk through the hotel, all the [hotel] cards are out on the table,\u201d Dellandrea said. \u201cTheir room key, because there\u2019s two of them, has two room keys in it, so I just take one of them.\u201d<\/p>\n
For months, as Celebrini and Smith were trying to play doo-doo detective, Dellandrea would be at dinner with them.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo they\u2019re always talking about it,\u201d he smiled. \u201cYou\u2019re trying to put things in their head that would never make them think it\u2019s you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just for example, Dellandrea might say to them, about teammate Barclay Goodrow, \u201cGoody\u2019s always kind of hard to find. He\u2019s always sneaky.\u201d<\/p>\n
How come Celebrini and Smith never seemed to suspect that the dumper was Dellandrea?<\/p>\n
\u201cI was always around them,\u201d he said. \u201cThat was the only time I wasn\u2019t around them.\u201d<\/p>\n
It\u2019s always the ones closest to you, right?<\/p>\n
\u201cAlways is,\u201d Dellandrea laughed, \u201cthose are the ones you never expect.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dellandrea\u2019s only apparent regret?<\/p>\n
On the podcast, Celebrini and Smith revealed it was ex-San Jose Sharks teammate Nico Sturm who called out Dellandrea\u2019s shit.<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t say anything to [Nico]. I was disappointed, because it\u2019s good when those pranks can go on for long periods of times. That\u2019s the fun of it, right?\u201d he smiled. \u201cIt\u2019s the fun of it, because no one knows, but you know. Acting normal\u2026acting like you\u2019re not even doing it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The doo-gooder\u2019s closing statement about the prank war?<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s over,\u201d Dellandrea declared. \u201cOther than the way they trashed my room should never be done to somebody. Never again.\u201d<\/p>\n
