Tipoff for one of the season&#8217;s highlight events is set for 7 p.m.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Rainbow Wahine extended their recent run by knocking off UC Irvine, which entered the game tied atop the Big West, in a 55-50 decision on Thursday. Freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/bailey-flavell\/22417\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22417\" target=\"_blank\">Bailey Flavell<\/a>\u00a0led four &#8216;Bows in double figures with 18 points, all coming in the second half, and the UH defense keyed the victory in holding the Anteaters to 32.7% shooting.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nAs in in its first two years, &#8220;Beeman&#8217;s Big Bash&#8221; will feature surprises and giveaways for fans and this year&#8217;s event will be preceded by the Wahine Experience, set for 4-6 p.m. at the Clarence T.C. The freshman has led the team in scoring in 12 games this season.&#13;<br \/>\n\tFreshman guard <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/keiara-curtis\/22421\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22421\" target=\"_blank\">Keiara Curtis<\/a> has scored in double figures in nine of the last 10 games and has made at least one 3-pointer in 10 consecutive games.&#13;<br \/>\n\tSenior forward <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/imani-perez\/22415\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22415\" target=\"_blank\">Imani Perez<\/a> continues to anchor the UH defense and ranks first in the Big West and 33rd nationally with 1.84\u00a0blocked shots per game. She ranks second in the conference with 35 total blocks this season and had at least one in 17 of 19 appearances this season.&#13;<br \/>\n\tAs a team, UH leads the Big West and ranks sixth in the nation with 6-0\u00a0blocks per game. UH&#8217;s rate of blocked shots remains ahead of the program record of 5.6 set in the 2004-05 season.&#13;<br \/>\n\tSenior forward <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/saniyah-neverson\/22423\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22423\" target=\"_blank\">Saniyah Neverson<\/a> is shooting 56.6\u00ad% from the field in Big West contests to lead the conference.\u00a0&#13;<br \/>\n\tUH remains second in the Big West and jumped to 22nd nationally in field-goal percentage defense in holding opponents to 36.1% shooting. The &#8216;Bows have held their opponents to a combined 32.3% shooting over the last six games.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>THE MATCHUP<\/p>\n<p>Long Beach State Beach<br \/>\nSeries Record: Hawai&#8217;i leads 28-23<br \/>\nStreak: UH won 1<br \/>\nLast Meeting: UH 72-65; Feb. 13, 2025; Long Beach, Calif.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe Rainbow Wahine and Beach meet for the 52nd time in a series that began on Jan. 31, 1986.&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe teams split last year&#8217;s series with both teams winning on the road.&#13;<br \/>\n\tUH holds a 15-11 lead in games played in Honolulu. The Beach pulled out a 73-69 win in overtime in last year&#8217;s meeting at the Stan Sheriff Center.&#13;<br \/>\n\tUH has won four of the last five meetings since LBSU swept the regular-season series in 2023.&#13;<br \/>\n\tUH is 20-8 against the Beach under head coach <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/coaches\/laura-beeman\/2951\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"2951\" target=\"_blank\">Laura Beeman<\/a>.&#13;<br \/>\n\tLBSU coach Amy Wright is in her third season leading the Beach and has a record of 34-49.&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe Beach opened the week with a 75-72 win against UC Riverside on Thursday in Long Beach. Sophomore guard JaQuoia Jones-Brown tied her career high with 29 points on 10-for-19 shooting.&#13;<br \/>\n\tJones-Brown leads the team and ranks fifth in the Big West with 17.1 points per game. She has scored in double figures in 18 of 19 games this season.&#13;<br \/>\n\tJones-Brown is also the team&#8217;s leading rebounder with 7.6 per game.&#13;<br \/>\n\tJudit Oliva Fernandez ranks third in the Big West with 1.67 blocked shots per game.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>WAHINE EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tPrior to the game, UH and ESPN Honolulu will host\u00a0the &#8220;Wahine Experience&#8221; at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex. A completely free event for everyone where fans will get to interact with members of every women&#8217;s team at UH. Sponsors partnered with ESPN Honolulu will be on location, giving out prizes. Fans can enter through Gate 1B, next to the Zone 20 parking structure under the small videoboard\u00a0of the football facility.
