{"id":157759,"date":"2026-01-31T07:01:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-31T07:01:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/157759\/"},"modified":"2026-01-31T07:01:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-31T07:01:08","slug":"fresno-protesters-unite-for-nationwide-strike-on-ice-the-rampage-online","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/157759\/","title":{"rendered":"Fresno Protesters Unite For Nationwide Strike On ICE \u2013 The Rampage Online"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The nationwide shutdown for Immigration Control Enforcement (ICE) brought Fresno protesters to the streets on the Shaw Avenue overpass off Highway 41, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Jan. 30.<\/p>\n<p>The general strike for ICE encouraged many civilians to skip work, school and limit shopping for the day in protest.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Signs and displays during the protest also called for the freedom of Palestine, justice for Renee Good, Alex Pretti and costs of inflation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think I\u2019m just here to do my part and speak up for those who can\u2019t,\u201d Madai V, a Fresno State student protester said holding up a \u201cFuck Ice\u201d sign.<\/p>\n<p>V called off work and school to come out to the protest.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2530997\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image3-2-600x337.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\"  \/>Photo of protesters holding signs pointed to the passing cars on Shaw Avenue on Jan. 30. (Photo by: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.therampageonline.com\/staff_profile\/miley-araujo-2\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Miley Araujo<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m protesting for a better America, for a place that treats everybody, women, minorities, everyone, as someone of value,\u201d protester Alma Ferreyra said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Another protester, Jayne Bolth, said she shows up on the bridge every Thursday to protest. She called it the \u201cBridge Per Day\u201d and said there\u2019s multiple locations where the protests take place.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201dWe need a change, and it\u2019s not gonna come from up above, people have to stand together and stand against this,\u201d Bolth said, holding a sign condemning the misuse of tax money.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2530998\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image4-337x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"337\" height=\"600\"  \/>Photo of a protester displaying a \u201cFree Palestine\u201d tapestry draped on the bridge on Jan. 30.
