STANFORD, Calif. \u2013 No. 9 Stanford captured its third conference dual victory in its last three meets Friday night, besting No. 20 California, 196.975-196.825, inside Maples Pavilion.<\/p>\n
The victory over the Golden Bears marked the Cardinal\u2019s first dual-meet win over its Bay Area rival since the 2014 season (March 3, 2014).<\/p>\n
Senior Anna Roberts<\/a> won the all-around competition for the third consecutive meet, highlighted by her beam title-winning score of 9.950 and second-place finishes on vault (9.875) and bars (9.925). Junior Sienna Robinson<\/a> won bars with a new career-best score of 9.950.<\/p>\n Stanford kicked off its pink and alumnae meet with a season-best vault rotation, posting a 49.200 team total led by a 9.875 from anchor Roberts. Freshman Summer Gronski<\/a> posted a new career-best score of 9.850 in the third spot, while sophomore Ui Soma<\/a> matched her career-best score of 9.850 in the fourth position. Senior Taralyn Nguyen<\/a> added a 9.800 in the fifth spot, while freshman Ana B\u0103rbosu<\/a> hit a 9.825 in the second spot of the lineup.<\/p>\n After the first rotation, California held a 49.250-49.200 lead.<\/p>\n The Cardinal kept its season-best rotations going with a 49.450 on bars, led by a new career-best mark from Robinson. Roberts followed with a 9.925, while B\u0103rbosu posted a career-best-tying 9.875 in the fifth spot. Ui Soma<\/a> anchored with a 9.900, and Stanford\u2019s one-two punch of Jung-Ruivivar and senior Ava Sorrento<\/a> opened the rotation with matching scores of 9.800.<\/p>\n Stanford secured its first lead of the night halfway through the meet, 98.650-98.525.<\/p>\n In the third rotation, the Cardinal\u2019s beam lineup posted a 49.025, even with two athletes recording falls. Roberts led the way with a career-best 9.950 in the fifth spot of the lineup, and Robinson posted her second 9.925 score of the night in the third slot. Junior Temple Landry<\/a> and senior Claire Dean<\/a> each posted scores of 9.875, while B\u0103rbosu\u2019s 9.400 in the anchor position was Stanford\u2019s final counted score.<\/p>\n California regained the lead after three rotations, 147.700-147.675.<\/p>\n
