FERNDALE, Mich. \u2013 An Oak Park man will spend decades in jail for the murder of a DoorDash delivery driver in Ferndale.<\/p>\n
It happened in March 2025, near Eight Mile Road and Woodward Avenue<\/a>. Police said they received a 911 call just before 2 a.m. reporting shots fired, followed by a second 911 call from someone who found a man collapsed outside a Ford Escape on the Woodward Avenue bridge<\/a> over Eight Mile Road.<\/p>\n Police said they found Mamadou Diallo, a 26-year-old man from Detroit, who had been shot in the chest. He was rushed to a hospital, where he died.<\/p>\n It was the day before his 27th birthday.<\/p>\n Police said they learned Diallo was working as a DoorDash delivery driver at the time and had picked up an order from White Castle just before the shooting. According to authorities, Diallo\u2019s vehicle was nearly hit by a speeding GMC truck that abruptly switched lanes. The truck\u2019s driver slowed near Eight Mile Road, allowing Diallo to catch up.
