(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 CHP&#8217;s Traffic Incident Page said about 60 vehicles were involved in a crash on northbound Highway 99 as well as crashes on southbound lanes near Earlimart Saturday morning. The crashes caused closures for both sides of the highway.<\/p>\n<p>The CHP\u2019s website said on January 31, 2025, at around 8:16 a.m., it was initially reported that 15 vehicles were involved in a crash on northbound Highway 99 near Avenue 24.<\/p>\n<p>Within minutes, the number of vehicles involved climbed to 20.<\/p>\n<p>The CHP\u2019s website said at around 8:43 a.m. that 60 to 80 vehicles were involved.<\/p>\n<p>An official with CHP Visalia said a crash was also reported on the southbound lanes.<\/p>\n<p>SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/crash-on-highway-58-involves-about-15-vehicles-shuts-both-directions-kern-county-california-highway-patrol-toweline-road-chp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Nine injured after 43-vehicle crash on Highway 58<\/a><\/p>\n<p>CHP said both northbound and southbound Highway 99 is closed.<\/p>\n<p> Northbound traffic is being diverted off Cecil Avenue. Southbound traffic is being diverted off of Avenue 48.<\/p>\n<p>CHP said there were injuries, details on the extent were unavailable at the time.
