(WGGB\/WSHM) &#8211; Just after 1 p.m. on Saturday, the Springfield Fire Department responded to a call for an apartment fire at 109 Oakland Street in Forest Park.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Western Mass News was on scene and spotted a heavy presence of first responders trying to battle the fire in the freezing temperatures. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">We reached out to Springfield Fire Department spokesperson Drew Piemonte, who said they were battling a 3 alarm fire. A total of 16 people have been displaced as a result of the fire and are currently being assisted by the Red Cross.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Oakland Street fire\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/CT2FSN2IPVDMXMOG3TKS6JJHKA.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"473\" \/>Oakland Street fire(Rick Mora)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">There were no injuries as a result of battling the blaze.
