BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 The Bakersfield Police Department announced 2 vehicles were impounded on Friday for unsafe driving in the Mesa Marin Park area. Many more individuals are expected to be cited as the investigation continues.<\/p>\n
Officers received multiple 911 calls reporting a large vehicle gathering and unsafe driving activity in the area of Mesa Marin Park, Hwy. 178 and the City in the Hills neighborhood on Jan. 30, 2026, around 10:00 p.m.<\/p>\n
When they arrived, they found several hundred vehicles gathered in a parking lot, with some engaging in unsafe and unlawful driving behavior.<\/p>\n
Officers say they focused on public safety, crowd dispersal and a coordinated enforcement response.<\/p>\n
Two vehicles were impounded for reckless driving. Several others have been identified through on-scene observation and follow-up investigation.<\/p>\n
