{"id":160406,"date":"2026-02-02T16:06:32","date_gmt":"2026-02-02T16:06:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/160406\/"},"modified":"2026-02-02T16:06:32","modified_gmt":"2026-02-02T16:06:32","slug":"where-the-sacramento-kings-roster-stands-on-deadline-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/160406\/","title":{"rendered":"Where the Sacramento Kings roster stands on deadline week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Sacramento Kings have begun rebuilding their current roster by <a href=\"https:\/\/sactownsports.com\/nba\/sacramento-kings\/deandre-hunter-ellis-schroder-hunter\/61519\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">trading guards Dennis Schroder and Keon Ellis to the Cleveland Cavaliers.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Over the weekend, Sacramento moved its two guards to the Cavs\u2013as well as forward Dario Saric to the Chicago Bulls\u2013in return for veteran forward De\u2019Andre Hunter.<\/p>\n<p>Sacramento (12-39), owners of the worst record in the NBA, are entering an important week as they look to re-shape its roster under first-year general manager Scott Perry.<\/p>\n<p>The trade of Ellis was highly anticipated, while the inclusion of Schroder\u2019s $15 million-per-season salary helped the Kings bring back the three-and-D wing in Hunter, a player who is also under contract for $24 million in 2026-27.<\/p>\n<p>A lot can happen between now and 12 PM PT on Thursday when the trade deadline passes, but here\u2019s how things look for the current Sacramento Kings roster and rotation following the three-team deal with Cleveland and Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>Updated 2025-26 Sacramento Kings Roster<\/p>\n<p>Guards<\/p>\n<p>Russell Westbrook<\/p>\n<p>Zach LaVine<\/p>\n<p>Malik Monk<\/p>\n<p>Nique Clifford<\/p>\n<p>Devin Carter<\/p>\n<p>Daeqwon Plowden **<\/p>\n<p>Isaiah Stevens **<\/p>\n<p>Forwards<\/p>\n<p>Keegan Murray<\/p>\n<p>DeMar DeRozan<\/p>\n<p>De\u2019Andre Hunter<\/p>\n<p>Precious Achiuwa<\/p>\n<p>Doug McDermott<\/p>\n<p>Centers<\/p>\n<p>Domantas Sabonis<\/p>\n<p>Maxime Raynaud<\/p>\n<p>Dylan Cardwell \u2013 C**<\/p>\n<p>Drew Eubanks<\/p>\n<p>**Player on Two-Way Contract<\/p>\n<p>*2 Open Roster Spots remaining*<\/p>\n<p>Sacramento will convert two-way center Dylan Cardwell to a standard contract after the deadline passes, but it is intriguing to see that they will keep two roster spots open until then.<\/p>\n<p>This opens the door to a potential three-for-one trade, one that could involve moving a larger contract out, such as Domantas Sabonis (who has been heavily linked to the Toronto Raptors in trade talks) or Zach LaVine, who was previously coveted by the Milwaukee Bucks before Giannis Antetokounmpo\u2019s injury and uncertain future.<\/p>\n<p>There is nothing imminent suggesting that a significant move is on the way, but things can come together quickly during NBA trade deadline week.<\/p>\n<p>Until then, this is the likely rotation you\u2019ll see for this version of the Beam Team:<\/p>\n<p>Potential Sacramento Kings Depth Chart<\/p>\n<p>Starters<\/p>\n<p>PG \u2013 Russell Westbrook<\/p>\n<p>SG \u2013 Zach LaVine<\/p>\n<p>SF \u2013 DeMar DeRozan<\/p>\n<p>PF \u2013 Precious Achiuwa<\/p>\n<p>C \u2013 Domantas Sabonis<\/p>\n<p>Bench<\/p>\n<p>PG \u2013 Malik Monk<\/p>\n<p>SG \u2013 Nique Clifford<\/p>\n<p>SF \u2013 De\u2019Andre Hunter<\/p>\n<p>PF \u2013 Dylan Cardwell<\/p>\n<p>C \u2013 Maxime Raynaud<\/p>\n<p>*Keegan Murray (ankle sprain) is currently rehabbing and working his way back to game action.<\/p>\n<p>What About The Money?<\/p>\n<p><img data-perfmatters-preload=\"\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-61543\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/HAF568MbIAAJ9_7-300x169.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"694\" height=\"391\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Currently projected at $190.8 million, the Kings are already over the luxury tax and creeping toward the first apron, but they\u2019re not boxed in yet.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no actual cap space here \u2014 everything at the deadline has to come via trades or exceptions \u2014 but staying below the first apron keeps Sacramento functional.<\/p>\n<p>They can still aggregate contracts, creatively match salaries, and make a real move if they want to. The margin for error is thin, though. Any deal that adds money has to be intentional, which makes consolidation trades and pick-driven upgrades far more likely than a pure salary add.<\/p>\n<p>More Sacramento Kings coverage from Sactown Sports<\/p>\n<p>The Dennis Schroder never made sense for the Sacramento Kings.
