(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 A 68-year-old Bakersfield resident who died after being unresponsive in a residential fire on Bernard Street was identified by the Kern County Coroner\u2019s Office as Bharti Khatri.<\/p>\n<p>The coroner\u2019s report said on January 24, 2026, at around 6:14 a.m., Khatri was pronounced dead in the 300 block of Bernard Street after being found unresponsive in a residential fire.<\/p>\n<p>An autopsy will be conducted to determine cause and manner of death.<\/p>\n<p>The fire is being investigated by the Bakersfield City Fire Department.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"BAKERSFIELD, Calif.
