The Sacramento event was led by<br \/>\n  students from six public high schools, who secured<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/capitolpermits.chp.ca.gov\/Event\/Detail\/2026-1515\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n  a<br \/>\n  permit<\/a>, left class<br \/>\n  after second period, gathered at the state Capitol and held a<br \/>\n  march and rally from Cesar Chavez Plaza. national protest.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Another option for businesses,<br \/>\n  especially those close to the downtown protest grounds, was to<br \/>\n  stay open but focus on supporting the protesters instead of<br \/>\n  making sales. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/mezacalifornia\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Meza California<\/a>, an Arab-Mexican fusion restaurant, said<br \/>\n  they would give free coffee to anyone heading to the<br \/>\n  protests. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/amatoria_fine_art_books\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Amatoria Books<\/a> gave out free books and cookies, and if<br \/>\n  shoppers really wanted to buy something, they could only use cash<br \/>\n  (therefore not funneling any profits to banks). <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DUHrL9HEtbf\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Offbeat Coffee<\/a> in Upper Land Park offered free drip coffee<br \/>\n  and said they would donate 100 percent of profits on other<br \/>\n  products to The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, an<br \/>\n  immigrant rights organization based in the Los Angeles area since<br \/>\n  1986.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comstocksmag.com\/sites\/main\/files\/imagecache\/lightbox\/main-images\/6-january_30_2026iceout_student_protest-6.png\" rel=\"lightbox[15892][Protesters rally at Sacramento\u2019s State Capitol during the Jan. 30 ICE OUT! The R Street vintage store <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DUHoH4xkXAG\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Old Gold<\/a> explained on Instagram that \u201cJanuary is an<br \/>\n  extremely hard month for us and many small businesses\u201d but said<br \/>\n  that they would donate 10 percent of the month\u2019s cash sales to<br \/>\n  NorCal Resist, a nonprofit based in Arden Arcade. The downtown<br \/>\n  Immortal Cafe &amp; Supply, which also announced they would stay<br \/>\n  open, said they would donate 10 percent of Jan. 30 sales to the<br \/>\n  organization.
