Keeping AC Transit buses on the road and running smoothly takes hard work and dedication. Each month, the District recognizes the outstanding service of drivers and mechanics by awarding \u201cEmployee of the Month\u201d honors in the Supervision, Maintenance, and Transportation divisions.<\/p>\n

Supervisors at the Central Maintenance Facility and AC Transit\u2019s four bus divisions\u2014Emeryville, Richmond, East Oakland, and Hayward\u2014nominate candidates. Superintendents then review the nominations and select one transportation and one maintenance employee from each division, along with one from the Central Maintenance Facility.<\/p>\n

Honorees receive a gift certificate to a local restaurant in appreciation of their contributions.<\/p>\n

Demetrius\u00a0is being recognized for his efforts in the component rebuild shop. As the Lead in the department, he is tasked with creating and issuing work orders, training on new components, and parts acquisition for himself and 6 other mechanics. He works closely with the machinists and warehouse personnel. Thank you, Demetrius, for your unwavering dedication.<\/p>\n

His experience and troubleshooting skills make him a valued resource to the team. Last month, Branden went above and beyond by volunteering to cover shifts during holiday staffing shortages.
