A woman in her 20s was hospitalized in critical but stable condition Monday evening after being struck by a Pittsburgh Regional Transit bus in Oakland.<\/p>\n
PRT spokesman Adam Brandolph said the incident occurred at the intersection of Neville Street and Fifth Avenue shortly before 7 p.m.<\/p>\n
The 58-Greenfield bus was turning left onto Fifth Avenue and hit the woman as she was in the crosswalk, Brandolph said.<\/p>\n
There were two passengers on the bus at the time. No other injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
Brandolph said the bus driver was placed on paid leave. An investigation is underway. As part of protocol, the driver will undergo drug and alcohol screenings.<\/p>\n
The woman was taken to UPMC Presbyterian and her condition remained the same as of late Monday.<\/p>\n
