CLAWSON, Mich. \u2013 A man from Livingston County has been sentenced for the deadly shooting of an 18-year-old.<\/p>\n

It happened in May 2025, at a home near the intersection of 14 Mile Road and Renshaw Avenue in Clawson.<\/p>\n

The next day, police confirmed two suspects were taken into custody, but a third remained at large<\/a>. Tylaj Clark-Spencer was arrested later that night<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to authorities, Clark-Spencer, the victim and a third person were in the process of leaving the Clawson apartment when Clark-Spencer checked to see if the gun he had on him was loaded. The gun went off, striking and killing the 18-year-old victim.<\/p>\n

The gun was allegedly stolen from a safe belonging to the father of a 17-year-old who was charged. The teen reportedly hid the gun and other evidence after the shooting.<\/p>\n

Clark-Spencer pleaded no contest to manslaughter, receiving and concealing stolen firearm<\/a>, and two counts of felony firearms. <\/p>\n

On Tuesday, Feb. 3, Clark-Spencer was sentenced to six to 15 years for manslaughter, two years for both felony firearm charges, and two to 10 years for receiving and concealing stolen firearm.<\/p>\n
