Impact affordable housing policy and learn about home-related projects happening throughout the city at Long Beach\u2019s HOME Roadshow Open House on Feb. 10 at the Bixby Park Community Center.<\/p>\n

This open house is hosted by the Long Beach Community Development Department and will cover topics like the Enhanced Density Bonus<\/a> ordinance, which provides incentives to developers to include a percentage of low-income and multi-family units in their developments. Feedback from the community about the updated ordinance will be brought to the Planning Commission in April and to the city council in June, and will impact the final ordinance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The HOME (Housing and Homelessness Opportunities, Mobilization and Engagement) Community Roadshow aspect of the meeting will cover housing production efforts and rezoning projects in the works. An open conversation will take place around housing, homelessness and the City\u2019s ongoing efforts to address the issue.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

The open house will cover a range of other topics, including zoning, urban planning and housing, specifically: Everyone\u2019s Coast<\/a>, Zone In: 10th to Broadway<\/a>, Downtown Shoreline Vision Plan<\/a>, Accessory Dwelling Units<\/a>, Open Space and Recreation Element Update<\/a>, Religious Facilities Overlay<\/a> and Housing Element Mid-Cycle Analysis<\/a>. The goal is to provide an opportunity to talk with staff about various City initiatives and issues in one convenient place.<\/p>\n

During the open house, attendees can ask questions and speak directly with representatives from the Department\u2019s Planning Bureau, Building and Safety Bureau and Housing and Neighborhood Services Bureau, as well as the Office of Homeless Strategy and Partnerships.<\/p>\n

Feedback collected during the event will help guide the City\u2019s housing policy work, which supports the goals of the certified Sixth Cycle (2021\u20132029) Housing Element<\/a> and ensures alignment with state housing mandates.<\/p>\n

On-site interpretation services will be available in Spanish. Interpretation in other languages will be available upon request by emailing CDHousingPolicy@longbeach.gov. Pre-registration is not required but highly encouraged at lbcd.info\/planningforhousing<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The event will take place Tuesday, Feb. 10 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Bixby Park Community Center (130 Cherry Ave.).<\/p>\n
