Citywide rezoning efforts have reached Long Beach\u2019s coastal areas with the Everyone\u2019s Coast project.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This is the latest introduction to the Zone In<\/a> projects across the city, in which officials have been updating neighborhoods\u2019 uses to increase housing and accessibility.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Two goals are being addressed through this project, each targeting a specific area<\/a> of the city:\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sub-Area One: Focusing on rezoning major corridors in coastal areas to increase housing availability and affordability east of Shoreline Drive. Neighborhoods in this area include Alamitos Beach, Bluff Park, Belmont Shore and Naples.<\/p>\n

Sub-Area Two: Focusing on mobility and access to the beach for residents in Central Long Beach from PCH to the north, Magnolia Avenue to the west, 10th Street to the south, and Ximeno Avenue to the east. Neighborhoods such as \u202fWashington, Cambodia Town\u202fand Zaferia will receive more walking, biking, transit and street improvements that connect to the beach.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This project will update development regulations for certain properties in coastal areas of Long Beach to allow more housing on major corridors and designated areas of change while developing transportation recommendations for improving access to the coast for everyone.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Residents can complete two surveys, addressing each of the sub-areas, through April 24. The survey for sub-area one is available at the following links in these languages: English<\/a>,<\/a> Spanish<\/a>, Tagalog<\/a>,<\/a> and Khmer<\/a>.<\/a> Surveys for sub-area two are available in these languages: English<\/a>, Spanish<\/a>, Tagalog<\/a>, and Khmer<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Those who complete the survey will be entered for a chance to win a $50 gift card.\u00a0<\/p>\n
