SCOTTS VALLEY \u2014 A Soquel man was airlifted to a medical center over the hill to be treated for injuries he suffered during an early morning collision on Graham Hill Road this week, police said.<\/p>\n
Santa Cruz units of the California Highway Patrol were called at approximately 7:45 a.m. Tuesday to the intersection of Graham Hill and and Cress roads near Scotts Valley after receiving reports of an accident involving a 2018 Toyota RAV4 and a 2023 Honda Rebel motorcycle, according to a release from the agency.<\/p>\n
First responders learned that a 32-year-old San Jose woman driving the RAV4 southbound on Graham Hill Road was attempting to make a left turn onto Cress Road when, for reasons still under investigation, a collision occurred with the 25-year-old Soquel man driving the Honda motorcycle in the northbound direction.<\/p>\n
The speed of both vehicles was not immediately known, and investigators have ruled out alcohol or drugs as contributing factors.<\/p>\n
Despite wearing a helmet, the 25-year-old driver of the motorcycle suffered major injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to Valley Medical Center in San Jose by an air ambulance.
