The court\u2019s decision is a major victory for Democrats ahead of the midterm elections.<\/p>\n<p>This decision came after California Republicans asked the court to block the state\u2019s redrawn congressional district lines, alleging the map was racially gerrymandered. The court offered no explanation or dissent.<\/p>\n<p>The congressional map, drawn by California Democrats and passed in November by California voters, allows the Democratic Party to pick up as many as five House seats this fall.<\/p>\n<p>California\u2019s Gov. Gavin Newsom led the redistricting push, saying it was a response to the new congressional map enacted in Texas.
