VALLEJO, CA \u2014 A 32-year-old Illinois man has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a minor while in the Bay Area two years ago, according to authorities. <\/p>\n
Adam Lares, of Roselle, Illinois, is facing six felony counts for sexual acts with a minor under the age of 14, according to the Vallejo Police Department. <\/p>\n
Lares was linked to the Bay Area incident following his arrest in Illinois on similar accusations. The Fox Lake Police Department arrested the 32-year-old on suspicion of sexually assaulting a minor and possession of child sexual abuse material earlier this year. <\/p>\n
During that investigation, officers learned that Lares was in Vallejo in 2024, when he sexually assaulted a minor under the age of 14, filmed it and then uploaded the material online, police said. It’s unclear how Lares knew the child. <\/p>\n
Those officers then notified the Vallejo Police Department of the connection. Officers with the Vallejo Police Department quickly reviewed previous records, located the child Lares is accused of assaulting and placed that child in protective custody, authorities. <\/p>\n
“The victim was provided with access to emotional support services and trauma informed care,” police said. “In addition, Child Protective Services (CPS) was notified about this incident and is currently involved in the case.”<\/p>\n
A warrant has been issued for his arrest in California; however, he remains incarcerated at an Illinois facility, authorities said. <\/p>\n
