ELMONT, N.Y. \u2014 The San Jose Sharks keep making unfortunate history.<\/p>\n
According to Sportradar<\/a>, after a 3-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday, the 0-3-2 Sharks became the first NHL, NBA, NFL or MLB team to be winless in their first five games for four-straight seasons.<\/p>\n \u201cTrust me, it sucks. Keep telling myself there\u2019s gotta be a reason it keeps happening,\u201d sophomore head coach Ryan Warsofsky said. \u201cWe\u2019re very, very frustrated, and we\u2019re going to keep working at it.\u201d<\/p>\n October might be the scariest month for San Jose: They\u2019re a combined 6-26-5 over the last four Octobers.<\/p>\n Can the Sharks get a treat before Halloween? They begin a four-game road trip on Tuesday, going through the three New York\/New Jersey teams and the Minnesota Wild.<\/p>\n Last year, San Jose became the first team in NHL history to lose their first nine games in back-to-back seasons.<\/p>\n Hopefully, history doesn\u2019t repeat itself on this trip.<\/p>\n San Jose Sharks (0-3-2)<\/p>\n Yaroslav Askarov will start. Michael Misa will play, setting up a match-up between 2025 No. 2 pick Misa and No. 1 pick Matthew Schaefer.<\/p>\n \u201cI skate with him in the summer, so just getting to know him over the last couple of years, it\u2019s been great. He\u2019s a great guy,\u201d Misa told Sharks Hockey Digest<\/a>\u00a0about Schaefer. \u201cThere will definitely be some little competition on the inside.
