ROYAL OAK, MI \u2014 Police are investigating a Wednesday freeway shooting in Oakland County.<\/p>\n
The shooting happened at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday the southbound Interstate 75 and the Interstate 696 interchange in Royal Oak, according to Michigan State Police.<\/p>\n
Police said the victim was driving in the southbound lanes on Interstate 75 when he saw a newer white Jeep Cherokee or Compass with window tint.<\/p>\n
The Jeep was moving along the right shoulder and approached the victim’s car in slowed rush hour traffic, according to police.<\/p>\n
The Jeep then cut off the victim’s car while merging onto the westbound ramp, while the victim continued onto the eastbound ramp, according to police.<\/p>\n
When the two cars were side-by-side, the driver of the Jeep opened his door and fired multiple shots at the victim, according to police.<\/p>\n
The victim continued down the eastbound ramp to avoid further gunfire, according to police.<\/p>\n
The victim’s car was struck twice on the passenger side, but there were no injuries, according to police.<\/p>\n
No other details were released as police were still investigating the shooting.<\/p>\n
“This is another example of a dispute being settled with a handgun,” Michigan State Police First Lt. Mike Shaw said. “Detectives are currently using technology in the area to attempt to identify the driver of the jeep.
