Fresno State\u2019s Paris Mahoney (fences, flat) and TCU\u2019s Piper Keller (horsemanship) and Cassie Hacking (reining) were named the Big 12 Equestrian Riders of the Month for January.<\/p>\n
Mahoney went undefeated in the jumping seat disciplines in Fresno State\u2019s 13-5 win over the then-No. 7 UC Davis. In the fences discipline, Mahoney earned the first point of the meet for the Bulldogs, defeating her opponent 82-73, the largest margin of victory in the event. The sophomore then clinched the final point of the meet in the Flat discipline with a 76-73 score. This was the second time this season Mahoney went undefeated in both events.<\/p>\n
In the western seat, Keller led the Horned Frogs to a 14-4 victory over No. 7 UC Davis with an individual win in horsemanship. The freshman posted the highest score in the western seat with a 77.50, defeating her opponent by five points. For the ride, Keller earned the first MOP honor of her career.<\/p>\n
Hacking earned her third win of the season against the then-No. 7 UC Davis in the reigning discipline. The freshman posted the highest score in reining with a 71.50, sealing the victory over the Aggies. This is Hackings second Conference honor this season.
