(KFSN) &#8212; A man has died after being hit while trying to cross Highway 99 in northwest Fresno.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The California Highway Patrol was called out to the highway near Herndon Avenue just before 9 am Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Officers say the man ran in front of a pick-up truck in the far right lane as he attempted to cross the northbound traffic to get to the center divider.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The driver of the truck was unable to avoid him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The man was declared dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The driver of the pick-up stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">The crash is still under investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2026 KFSN-TV.
