CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. \u2013\u00a0Austin Peay State University’s men’s\u00a0tennis team\u00a0will compete against\u00a0Oakland City\u00a0in a fall rematch\u00a0at the Evansville Tennis Center,\u00a0in Evansville, Indiana,\u00a0Friday.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
In the\u00a0previous\u00a0meeting between the Governors and the Raiders, the Governors won four singles matches in their first\u00a0competition\u00a0of the day.\u00a0Vincent Lu<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Logan Tomovski<\/a>\u00a0earned straight-set victories.\u00a0Felipe De La Hormaza’s<\/a>\u00a0match was won in three sets, with the second set going to a\u00a0tiebreaker\u00a0with a four-point final tiebreaker.\u00a0Lucas Ranciaro<\/a>\u00a0defeated his opponent, also going to a second-set\u00a0tiebreaker,\u00a0ending in a four-point tiebreaker.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n The Govs continued the doubleheader with a pair of wins in doubles.\u00a0Rohan Loubser<\/a>\u00a0and Lu defeated their opponents 6-3;\u00a0Glen Arnet<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Ranciaro\u00a0defeated their opponent, 6-2.\u00a0The second set of doubles was won by Loubser and\u00a0Tomovski,\u00a06-2, and\u00a0Ranciaro\u00a0and Lu,\u00a06-0.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n The Governors\u00a0seek\u00a0to remain undefeated against the\u00a0Raiders;\u00a0the\u00a0Govs\u00a0remain\u00a0unbeaten\u00a0against Oakland City in the\u00a0four-year\u00a0history of competition.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n The Govs will continue their\u00a0spring matches Saturday,\u00a0February\u00a07th,\u00a0also at the Evansville Tennis Center,\u00a0against the Drake Bulldogs.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Scouting the Raiders\u00a0<\/p>\n 2025-26\u00a0Record:\u00a07-1\u00a0(0-0\u00a0River States Conference)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n 2024-26\u00a0Record: 15-5\u00a0(5-0\u00a0River States Conference)\u00a0<\/p>\n The Raiders were River States Conference Champions\u00a0in 2024\u00a0but fell to Grace College in the NAIA national tournament.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n All-Time Series (since 2004):\u00a04-0,\u00a0Austin Peay\u00a0<\/p>\n Last Meeting: The\u00a0Governors defeated the Raiders 4-0,\u00a0Feb. 8, 2025\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Follow the Govs on Social\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n For news and updates ahead of the Governors’ season, follow the men’s tennis team\u00a0on\u00a0X\u00a0(@GovsMTN) and Instagram (@GovsTennis).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
